What is a professional dog trainer?
A professional dog trainer is an individual who:

Why should I train my dog?
All dogs should receive some type of training. Training decreases the likelihood of your dog developing behavior problems and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

What training method does Obedient K-9 use?
Obedient K-9 believes that your dog has a unique personality and should not be trained using any singular "cookie cutter" method of training; therefore, each dog's training will be individualized using a balanced, fair, and effective approach that produces real results for real world situations.

How long will it take to train my dog?
To put it simply, it takes as long as it takes. Our training programs are designed to teach dogs and owners at different levels based upon their personality, aptitude for learning, social development, past and present behavior, and the goals of the owner for his dog.

When should I begin training my dog?
We recommend beginning your dog's training as early as possible; however, dogs of all ages are able to learn. Most dogs are ready to begin training as early as 14-16 weeks of age. Upon completion of a free pre-enrollment evaluation, our certified trainers will advise you as to whether or not your dog is ready for training.

Is my dog too old to be trained?
It is never to late to train your dog. Sometimes it may take a little longer, but the results can be the same no matter what age you start.

How do I solve my dog behavior problems?
Some behavior problems can be tricky, especially if you are not sure how they got started. It is best to consult a professional for advice. Behavioral counseling sessions can help owners who have a generally well-behaved dog; however wish to solve a specific problem. Our trainers will advise you on probable causes and assist you with solutions.
